Ball and housing are metal-to-metal.

7075 Aluminum, Teflon-lined rod ends. 

Comes in one length - you cut to the size you need.  To shorten the threaded rod:

  1. Determine the length the rod needs to be shortened.
  2. Divide that amount by 2, and cut that length off each end of the rod.
  3. Do not cut one side only.
